Do Antioxidants Really Work?

by Keri
(Bangor, ME, USA)

For a recent biology paper, I was asked to write about the healing properties of antioxidants.

The research I found suggests that consuming antioxidant enriched foods on a regular basis can not only decrease the likelihood of cancer, but can also decrease the signs of aging.

The information I found indicated that the signs of aging are caused by free radicals, which break down the skin's natural elasticity. Free radicals are charged ions.

Antioxidants provide the counter point to free radicals, negating the charge of the ion and allowing the excess oxygen molecule to be flushed from the system.

Foods rich in antioxidants include dark chocolate or cacao powder, goji berries, blueberries, red wine, and green tea. Sensible consumption of these items has been proven to decrease signs of aging and increase life span.

Reishi Mushroom Benefits

For Reishi Mushroom Benefits, I take Reishi(ganoderma)everyday, in cap form and in reishi mushroom tea form. My body is feeling great!

Ganoderma is an antiaging herb so it is doing wonders for my body and for my customers.

Do you recommend the herb for different ailments? It is known as the "king of herbs" and most ND's use the herb.

Have you studied it much?
