Mr. Chen’s Organic Chinese Food in Washington, DC (Adams Morgan Neighborhood) is a place where you can get some good Chinese food with organic ingredients.
Mr. Chen’s in no way offers “real,” “authentic” Chinese food, but it does offer some delicious “Americanized” Chinese food. Expect to find some good Kung Pao shrimp, Veggie Lo Mein and Sesame chicken.
Mr. Chen’s may not exactly be what you think of when you think of ‘organic,’ but the ingredients are fresh. The food is less greasy than regular Chinese food fare, and ingredients seem better than those used at your typical Chinese food restaurant.
Although the location itself is no frills – it is in a basement – the food is great and well worth the money. (Molly, Washington, DC)

A few months ago my friends and me were on an educational trip to Washington, D.C. We stayed there for a few days. On the last day of our trip we wish to have something special for our dinner.
One of our friends told us about the Nora restaurant located in the same city. Our friend also told that the restaurant is an organic restaurant, where every eatable comes from certified organic farmers and producers. The restaurant had really amazing looks and we were exited.
Since we had no idea about the special recipes of that restaurant we sought the advice of an American friend who was also with us that day. He ordered the Roasted Nantucket Bay Scallops as a starter.
It was served with Butternut Squash Puree, Watermelon Radish, Scallop Cracker, Frisee, and Black Truffle Puree. It was so delicious and I cannot forget that taste even now.
Then he ordered for Cocoa Crusted Amish Duck Breast. This dish was served with Farro Verde along with Roasted Celery Root and some Black Trumpets together. Green Beans were spread all over the dish and a glass of Maple Sherry Juice was also served.
I was in a mood to taste all the dishes in that restaurant that day despite the cost, but after finishing the dish I felt I could not. The service from the waiters was so good. The price was a bit steep, but definitely well worth it!
If you ever go to Washington DC, do visit the Nora organic restaurant. It was simply amazing.
