To Botox... Or Not To Botox?

I am going to be turning 39 years old in a couple of months, and I'm starting to notice fine lines around My Eyes (Crows Feet...), and around my mouth (Laugh Lines).

I've heard good and bad about "Botox", and honestly it makes me a little nervous. Is there a better or safer way to fill in these lines??

Alternatives to Botox
by: George Parigian Jr.

Hi Lisa,

Thank you for your question. There are alternatives to Botox that are certainly safer, and just about as as effective, not to mention cheaper.

As you know, Botox involves tiny injections of a neurotoxin derived from botulism under the surface of your skin to actually paralyze nerves and give the skin a smoother appearance.

The effect wears off in a matter of months and has to be repeated. Risk wise, there is a danger of allergic reaction to the neurotoxin.

Alternatives to Botox would be products containing hyaluronic acid and Matrixyl-3000.

These products actually improve the health of your skin and are non-toxic. They are far cheaper than Botox and safer as well.

I think you would find these alternatives to Botox will do a really good job of smoothing out those age lines and giving your skin a younger and healthier appearance.
