Side Effects of Adderal

I was prescribed Adderal in the 8th grade. When I began taking it I noticed a huge decrease in my appetite, and a huge increase in my energy and focus. I would become so focused on my work that I would simply forget to eat.

I lost nearly 20 lbs. in two months, to mention my trouble sleeping. I would be functional on 3 to 4 hours of sleep a night, but as soon as I took my daily Adderal dose, my energy kicked in without the need for food.

My doctor told me this was all normal and my body was just adjusting to the drugs. I stuck with it and after several years of taking it now I hardly notice the side effects.

They are real and can be very dangerous, so doctors should be cautious about who they prescribe this pill too.

Problems with Ritalin

I took Ritalin about 2 weeks, given to fight fatigue but it caused me to be too tried to function. Doctor changed 18 mg of Concerta (time release Ritalin).

First lower dose then changed to 36 mg. I have experienced more fatigue but not sleeping all the time, bowel problems, chilling, hot flashes, eye pain, and yet after 2 weeks of the stronger dose no energy. Because of the side effects, it has been a very unpleasant experience. I'm also on Prozac 40mg.
