Electromagnetic Radiation and Your Health


Electromagnetic radiation is perhaps the most serious form of environmental pollution we face in modern times. Electromagnetic energy interacts with our bodies in powerful ways, and the effects of em radiation have profound and serious consequences for all life on our planet.





What is EM Radiation?

There are two forms of electromagnetic energy also referred to as electromagnetic fields:

  • Ionizing – such as gamma waves and which can remove electrons, creating ions
  • Non-Ionizing – which make atoms vibrate, but cannot remove electrons from atoms

Public health authorities have led us to believe that non-ionizing radiation is not harmful. In terms of human health, things are not quite that simple. Common sense and a little knowledge of how cells function tells us that this is not true!

There are both natural and man made sources of electromagnetic radiation:

  • Natural – thunderstorms, Earth’s magnetic field, geopathic stress
  • Man made – X-rays and other diagnostic equipment, electricity, radio waves, microwaves, cell phones, computers and other household appliances

There are two types of fields:

  • Electrical fields - are produced by changes in voltage
  • Magnetic fields – are produced by flow of electric current


Electromagnetic Radiation – How it Affects Us

Authorities claim that non ionizing radiation is not harmful because it cannot break chemical bonds. This is like saying that blows to the body are not harmful if they do not break the skin.

We have well over a trillion cells in the human body. Each of these has a nucleus where our DNA (the genetic blueprint for our body) resides. DNA is known to be receptive to resonant frequencies in much the same way as a radio antenna.

Cells have bioenergetic and electrical properties. The cell membranes in the mitochondria have varying electrical voltage potentials and capacitance to transport ions in and out of the cell through what is called the electron transport chain.

This is how your cells produce the energy that keeps you alive. Strong electromagnetic fields can disrupt the delicate balance of the electron transport chain and interfere with energy production in your cells.

Since DNA requires sufficient amounts of cellular energy to transmit information when our cells divide, electromagnetic radiation can cause encoding errors that may result in a cell becoming cancerous.

This is a simplistic explanation, but I think you get the picture. There are two things you want to do to protect yourself, limit your exposure to electromagnetic fields and use effective nutrition to protect yourself from the inside as well.

Detecting and Measuring EM Radiation

There are a number of instruments for measuring electromagnetic fields, such as Gauss meters, and magnetometers. For our purposes, a relatively inexpensive Gauss meter is sufficient.

With the Gauss meter you can detect electromagnetic fields in your home and arrange your living space and it’s electrical appliances so that you are not constantly exposed to strong electrical fields that can adversely affect your body.

Nutritional Strategies

Following a healthy diet for your blood and metabolic type helps a great deal. This will keep toxins and free radicals to a minimum, alter gene expression favorably, and help keep your immune system strong to protect against DNA damage.

To this you should add an antioxidant formula, which will further protect against oxidative stress and free radicals that can result from electromagnetic energy in your environment.

When undergoing diagnostic procedures like x-rays, cat scans, MRI, ect., it is VERY important to use high doses of antioxidants before and after any exposure to medical scans or radiation treatments to lessen the effects of free radicals they generate, and protect the integrity of your DNA

How To Shield Yourself from the Harmful Effects of Electromagnetic Energy

Note that I said “harmful effects” rather than simply shield yourself from all electromagnetic energies. Some forms are beneficial such as the Earths natural magnetic field, without which we could not maintain life on our planet.

There are also therapeutic forms of electromagnetic energy such as frequency specific microcurrent that can be used to treat injuries, inflammation, and other medical conditions.

Protecting yourself and your family from unhealthy electromagnetic radiation starts with identifying sources of strong electromagnetic fields such as high-tension power lines, and electrical substations, and choosing not to buy a home or rent near these sources.

Avoiding geopathic stress is another consideration. Geopathic stress occurs when the Earths natural magnetic fields are distorted. Underground streams, electricity, tunnels, mineral formations and geological faults distort the natural magnetic fields of the Earth.

This disruption in the normal magnetic resonance of the Earth is believe to have negative effects on our health, and has been implicated in everything from cancer to immune dysfunctions. Note: This will be covered in more detail on a separate page.

Here are some steps you can take to cut down on the amount of electromagnetic radiation you receive from various sources:

  • Use a Gauss meter to measure electromagnetic fields in your home, and make changes to minimize the fields by removing or turning off electrical or electronic appliances or devices, and moving couches beds and tables away from electrical fields
  • Make your bedroom as free from em radiation as possible. Do not sleep with electric alarm clocks or radios close to your head. Keep them a few feet away if possible. Remove or unplug any electronic devices in your sleeping area. Many devices emit a static electrical field even when not being used
  • When watching television, sit at least 6 feet away from the screen
  • Sit at least several feet away from your computer screen while using your computer. If you are still using an old style CTR monitor, then replace it with a flat screen LCD
  • Do not cook or warm anything up with a microwave oven. Microwave radiation is a very unhealthy way to prepare food. Tip: use a far infrared oven instead!
  • If you use a cell phone, buy a good quality hands free headset designed to minimize cell phone radiation you are exposed to
  • If you are buying or renting a house or apartment, make sure it is located at least 1 kilometer (.6 miles) from high tension power lines or electrical substations
  • Always buy top quality appliances and electronic devices. The better they are made the less electromagnetic radiation they emit into your living space

We literally live in a sea of electromagnetic energy. It surrounds us and is inescapable. It’s important to separate electromagnetic fields that are harmful from ones that are not. By following the steps above, you can cut down on your exposure to harmful electromagnetic radiation and ensure a longer healthier life.
