Orange Juice - The Natural Antioxidant
by Prema Charles
(Chennai, TN, India)
When it comes to anti-aging qualities and a healthy fruit juice recipe I can say that the traditional orange juice is the best.
I always prefer fresh oranges, which are juicy and tasteful naturally. It has lot of fiber content and is an antioxidant. Antioxidants can cancel out the cell-damaging effects of free radicals.
People who eat fruits and vegetables, which are good sources of antioxidants, have a lower risk of heart disease and some neurological diseases, and there is evidence that some types of vegetables, and fruits in general, probably protect against a number of cancers - orange is one of them.
Most people drink orange juice for its vitamin C, but aside from having that mineral, orange juice is also an excellent source of the polyphenols hesperidin and diosmin. What these chemicals do is strengthen the blood vessels and capillaries in the body and therefore reduce bruising.
Adding fresh made orange juice to your daily routine is a cheap and natural form of health insurance!

The Magic of Fruits and Juicing for Health
by Ashlee
(Devner,CO,United States)
Juicing for Health with Fresh Fruits!
I believe fresh fruits are God's provision of the finest and best source of vitamins, minerals and enzymes our bodies need.
Most fruits have very high concentration of one kind or another vitamin or mineral that our bodies so crave. When we regularly consume a variety of fruits, it provides the vitamins, minerals and enzymes our bodies so need to keep it in its most optimum form.
God created our bodies to be self-building, self-repairing and self-rejuvenating. When we fail to nourish it, when we are stressed, and when we abuse our bodies by addiction or even because of the polluted air we inhale, the cells in our body start to deteriorate. This is when the ugly degenerative diseases surface.
This is when fruits can be so helpful, but why wait till it's too late? Start making wise choices now concerning your health. Choose to live healthy. But, if disease has already shown its ugly face, then fight it with the "miracle foods" that God has given, fruits!

Amazing Berry Juice!
by Emily
(Southgate, MI, USA)
I am a 27 year old mother of two. Shortly after having my second child I was very overweight, tired, depressed, you name it. I started looking online for a solution.
I found that berries are high in antioxidants, energy, and some can boost your metabolism. I tried blueberries but really was not fond of the taste. I also tried the seeds from the pomegranate but was also not impressed with the taste.
I knew I like raspberries and blackberries. So I got an idea. I went out and got a juicer. I didn't get a fancy one. I am sure once I get a better one I will be amazed by the difference.
I started mixing oranges, raspberries, and/or blackberries with blueberries and acai berry puree in the juicer. It came out so amazingly good!
Before you know it I was back to my old self. I had more energy, my skin looked better, and best of all I lost 10 pounds! I can't believe I didn't know that berries and juicing could make such a great impact and difference in my life!

When Juicing Fruits - Remember...The Darker the Better...
by Brent Thomas
(Orlando, Florida)
Dark Fruits for Juicing
I think when you decide to do some juicing that the main reason you are interested in doing so is to promote your own health.
The taste of the mixture and an enjoyable pleasing texture may play a part but the really key result you desire is the health benefit.
As such I believe the key is to use 'Dark' Fruits and vegetables. The Darker the color the better. Personally I enjoy cherries (strain the pits!) and blueberries as the basis of my juices.
These dark ingredients contain more anti-oxidants and healthy ingredients than the paler sources.
Although I will often use frozen ingredients for the convenience factor it is usually better to use only the freshest non-frozen ingredients.
Unfortunately the fresher the items the more costly they may be. Also my preferred ingredients (cherries and blueberries) may often be out of season and thus harder to obtain or more costly.
Remember that you can use any ingredients you wish so availability is not such a big factor - just remember to choose those, which are dark.

Recipe for Orchard Apple Juice
by Mattie in Chicago
(Chicago, IL)
My story is how my husband uses this recipe for apple juice (he has an orchard).
Usually they don't drink it straight. Instead they cut up oranges in it and then put in cinnamon sticks and cloves and heat it up and serve it as cider. But here's the basic recipe anyway:
Apple Juice Recipe
Ingredients 12 Apples (Preferably baking apples) 2 tsp. Lemon Juice Sugar (To taste) Water
Peel and slice the apples and boil until soft, with enough water to cover them. Strain the juice in a bowl and stir in sugar until it has dissolved.
Chill. Before serving, stir in 2 tsp. of lemon juice for every pint of apple juice. Dilute with water and serve over ice cubes.
Thanks and Enjoy!

Benefits of Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Juicing
by Ike
(Massachusetts)
With fresh fruit and vegetable juicing, you are able to extract almost 100% of the nutrients trapped in the fibers. You get tremendous bioavailability of nutrients this way.
Properly extracted, the green juices are loaded with live enzymes, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium and sodium. There are also pro-vitamin A, vitamin B-complex and vitamins C, E and K.
For example, you will be surprised that when you juice 100g of fresh spinach and 50g of fresh parsley, the green juice would have much more iron than 300g of beef and more calcium than 300g of milk!
Just imagine the amount of goodness you are consuming from these green juices! Moreover, the nutrients from these juices can be quickly assimilated and absorbed by your cells, not taxing on your digestive system.
On its journey down the digestive tract, it does a quick spring-cleaning of your system. It “vacuum cleans” your blood of fungus, bacteria and undigested food particles that may have escaped digestion.
Don't we all need such cleansing? And what better way to do the job than with proper fresh fruit and vegetable juicing? So start today and enjoy the health benefits of juicing right now!

Fresh Grape Juice - Indian Style
by Vishnu
(Coimbatore,Tamilnadu, India)
Fresh Grapes Make The Best Juice
Method of making delicious grape juice:
1. Pick the grapes. Get a large basket, wear long sleeves and a hat, bring clippers, and fill up the basket with grape bunches. Keep in mind that a pound of grapes will yield a little less than a cup of juice.
2. Wash and de-stem the grapes. Put grapes in a basin filled with water. Then rinse the individual grapes, picking them away from the stem, collecting the grapes in a large bowl, and discarding the green unripe and old shriveled grapes.
3. Mash the grapes. With a potato masher, mash away at the grapes so the juice begins to flow. If you have picked a lot of grapes, you may need to work in batches. We have found it easiest to mash about 4 lbs of grapes at a time.
4. Cook the grapes. Put the mashed grapes into a large stockpot. Slowly heat the grapes and juice to a simmer on medium heat and then simmer for 10 minutes. Stir occasionally so that the grapes don't stick to the bottom of the pan. Halfway through cooking mash some more, breaking up as many of the remaining grapes as possible.
5. Prepare sieve or cheesecloth. Get another large pot, place a large fine mesh sieve over it. Alternatively you can cover it with two layers of cheesecloth, secure with a rubber band. Make sure pot is sitting on a plate to catch any juice that may run over.
6. Strain grape mixture. Ladle grape mixture over sieve or cheesecloth to strain. Let sit for several hours or overnight in the refrigerator to strain completely.
7. Finishing. Remove sieve or cheesecloth. * Note that sediment will have formed on the bottom of the container. Rinse out the sieve or cheesecloth and strain the juice again, to filter out some of the sediment. Pour or ladle juice into containers.
Now enjoy your juice!
