Taking Estrogen Pills

by Lily
(San Francisco, California)

A few years back, I had decided to take some estrogen supplement pills.

I forgot what the dosage was (how many mg) I was taking, but I had to take two pills a day, every day. I did that for a few months. I had bought several bottles (and they were not cheap). I think they were about $50 a bottle.

I did notice some effects from taking these estrogen pills. I did gain weight, and definitely not in the areas I wanted them to be. I got fatter in the hips, my waist, and my thighs. I don’t see why the weight is so unevenly distributed.

Aside from the weight gain and uneven fat distribution, I did notice emotional effects of taking estrogen. I have always been a tomboy ever since I was a little kid. After taking these pills, I swear, I started becoming more “girly.”

I really do believe estrogen makes you more “girly.” I started to not do as much sports, became more “emotional” and did more things out of “feelings” rather than doing things out of logic.

I don’t know other people’s reactions towards estrogen, but for me, this is what happened.

Taking Estrogen Pills
by: George Parigian Jr.

Hi Lily,

Thanks for sharing your comments about your experience with estrogen.

Hormone replacement therapy has come a long way in the last few years.

Now bioidentical hormones like estrogen and progesterone are making it possible for a more finely tuned approach to restoring hormone levels.

Your experiences of feeling more "girly" as you put it, would seem natural given the increase in estrogen from the pills you were taking.

Hormones do have a powerful effect on our thinking and feeling, and do accentuate our "gender identity" as well.

The weight gain and fat distribution changes are the result of using synthetic estrogen, probably in a higher dose than you really need.

There are two things you should check out:

Biosignature Modulation

Biosignature is a method of fine tuning hormone levels with natural supplements and achieving fat loss on specific areas of the body.

The link below is for doctors who do bioidentical hormone therapy:

Body Logic MD - Doctors Trained in Bioidentical Hormones

If biosignature does not solve your problem, then I would go on to bioidentical hormones.

Both approaches will result in better hormone balance without the side effects that you get with synthetic estrogen that you are likely taking.

Good luck and good health,

George
