If I am currently taking hormone replacement medication due to a hysterectomy, are my risks higher if I take hormonal balance for antiaging?

Risks Of Bioidentical Estrogen Thereapy
by: George Parigian Jr.

Hi Jennifer,

Thanks for your question. The risks you mention would in fact be a lot less if you were using bioidentical hormone therapy.

This is because the dosages that are used are the smallest doses that will work to resolve your problem.

Also, you are carefully monitored by a physician who will adjust these small doses according to the way your body responds.

This precise fine-tuning is called "titrating" and this is how the doctor will determine an effective dose for you, while minimizing the possibility of side effects.

The stories you hear in the media about the dangers of estrogen therapy have to be put in perspective.

What these women received was large doses of synthetic estrogens, some of which were synthesized from horse urine.

It is no surprise in light of this that they suffered such severe side effects.

Bioidentical hormone therapy uses hormones that are an exact match for what your body produces, and are given in doses to supplement what your body makes naturally.

I suggest you read the book "Ageless" by Suzanne Summers, and do some further research on website like www.lef.org to get more information on this subject before you make a decision to pursue it!

I wish you good luck and the best of health.

George
